Dr. P. Is one of the most compassionate vets that I ever met. I had to put my 15 year old dog to sleep due to cancer and she was so considerate of my family. I just adopted a seven month old puppy and I would not consider any other vet but Dr. P.

The owner's reply below stated there were budgetary concerns, yet I had the procedure done right away at another local vet. The procedure showed that she indeed still had an infection that was cured. I have all the documentation to prove this.

We love Dr. P and her staff and most importantly, so does our dog. A friend recommended Dr. P to us after having a horrible experience with our previous vet. It was the best referral! She is genuinely kind and caring. She has talked me through some breakdowns and always is a calming voice without being condescending. There is no sticker shock here either! Dr. P and her staff will walk you through options and the invoice before you walk out of the examination room. Our previous vet barely looked at our dog and then we were hit with a ridiculous bill in front of a packed waiting room. I have recommended Village Vet to friends and will continue to do so. A few of my friends have started using this practice and they are very pleased too. OH -- and it is always very clean! I wish there were more than 5 stars to give!

It's Novemeber 2017 and my dog is still continent and thank God I second guessed this vet's advice and got a second opinion.

Update: Standard procedure for undetectable urinalysis is to sample directly from the bladder. My dog had urine extracted from her bladder via a syringe by a more thorough veternarian and had the urine analyzed. This option was not offered at the Village Veterinarian. Instead, my request for further testing was denied ( contrary to the reply below) and was told she had incontinence and would need to be on meds the rest of her life. This was my ONLY OPTION offered. This didn't sound logical.

Lastly, contrary to the reply below regarding me still being upset was not my motivation in writing this review. I felt it was my duty to help others through my experience and to second guess any vet if you receive information that doesn't sound logical. I'm glad I did.

I don't understand the bad reviews. I recommend Dr. Polaneczky and Village Vet to all my friends and family and I have had many different issues she has diagnosed and treated for my dogs. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Patient staff as my Australian shepherd can be a handful. I've had dental work done, stitches removed, blood work / cancer issues, and bleeding gastrointestinal issues from antibiotics. With every problem Dr. Polaneczky always listened to my issues and provided multiple options and possible side effects if asked. You can tell they generally care about your animals and it shows in their work. If something causes an issue, like the antibiotics, they are always quick to respond and find a solution for your pet. Every pet is different and reacts differently to treatment, just like people. Even if things don't go perfectly, I trust Village Vet to be there and do everything possible to make sure my pets return to a healthy and happy state.

The response below stated 'it is not medically sound to prescribe a stronger antibiotic' yet is was medically sound to blindly 'trial' Proin for a lifetime?

First of all this office is very clean!! Which I appreciate! The staff is pretty awesome. They are caring and know what they are doing. Dr. P is so sweet. I've been bringing my dog and cat here since they opened. She always takes her time with them and me. Love this place

2013: Dr. Polaneczky prescribed Proin to my dog when she had a UTI. Despite my attempts to explain to her that it wasn't incontinence, she stated that she was incontinent and needed to take this medication for her entire life span. Went to another vet for a second opinion, prescribed the correct antibiotic, and my dog has been free and clear of her UTI and any urinary accidents.
